“It’s the one for skin ailments. Sphaeralcea coccinea, Scarlet Globe Mallow. You use the whole plant as far as I know, just pulverize the plant and put the pulp on the affected part. This whole area, the South Unit of the Badlands was turned into a bombing range after World War II. They thought of it as useless land, not good for anything. Not good for farming. And when they did that there wasn’t even cattle around here. So it was just considered wasteland. It’s so rich with life though, you know?"
